BIO
I am a freelance creator of documentary films and podcasts.
For the last ten years I’ve been lucky to work with scientists and NGOs on stories from the frontlines of the global conservation movement. My recent work has had a particular focus on stewardship of the world’s oceans.
My podcast series “The Outlaw Ocean” was released by CBC and the LA Times in September 2022. The project is an adaption of Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Ian Urbina’s groundbreaking New York Times series about lawlessness at sea.
I also collaborated with Ian on “Trouble in West Africa”, a short film for The New Yorker, about China’s neocolonialist industrial fishing practices in The Gambia.
My short films have won awards at film festivals around the world. “Eyes In The Forest”, a collaboration with Google and Conservation International, screened at 25 festivals and was named ‘Best Short Doc’ at SXSW ‘Films for the Forest’, as well as a Finalist at the 2021 World Wildlife Day Film Showcase.
